HERNO
The Italian fashion label HERNO combines tradition and modernity in a unique collection characterized by light down jackets and coats. By using the new "Double Face" technology, unprecedented production possibilities were created, which helped the family business to become more and more successful.
HERNO - a fashion label with family tradition
In 1948, Giuseppe Marenzi and his wife Alexandra Diana pursued the rather unusual idea of presenting water-repellent coats to the Italian fashion world. A difficult path, considering that Italy is considered a sun-drenched country where rainwear is in little demand. But with their keen sense for a new trend, they could not be dissuaded from their idea. As a result, Giuseppe Marenzi founded the fashion brand HERNO and began to design rain coats. Within a short time, the fashion label successfully established itself on the fashion market. With the invention of the unique "Double Face" technique, success arrived almost by itself. Two similar or very different materials are sewn into a double fabric. The seams are almost invisible and the advantages of the individual materials can be used more effectively.
The long-awaited expansion of the product range to include women's coats finally took place in 1950. From 1960 onwards, cashmere coats for women and men were added to the range. HERNO fashion impresses with its excellent fit, timeless cuts, first-class fabrics and an exclusive design. Fashionable elements, on the other hand, turn the jackets and coats into extraordinary creations. With the opening of the first store, the company became more specialized and divided the product range into a women's and a men's area. Wool jackets and wool coats were added for women, the range of rain coats and outdoor jackets for men was increased.
Fashion sold worldwide
Despite its international success story, the Marenzi family remains true to its origins and still has its headquarters in Lesa, a small village on Lake Maggiore. The HERNO label has been successful in the fashion world for more than 60 years and impresses with a classic, Italian design whose functionality is also suitable for everyday use.
